This Privacy Policy explains what information Dardar ("we", "us", "the App") collects from you, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Dardar, you agree to the practices described here.
Dardar is a flatmate- and room-finding app for Dubai, operated by [Legal Entity Name — to be completed], registered at [Registered Business Address — to be completed]. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@dardarapp.com.
We collect the information you provide directly, plus a small amount of technical data needed to run the service.
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account & identity | Full name, email, password (hashed), date of birth, gender | Create and secure your account; verify you're 18+ |
| Profile details | Bio, nationality, job title, marital status, lifestyle tags, budget, preferred area, move-in date, WhatsApp number | Show your profile to other users and power matching |
| Photos | Profile/avatar photo, listing photos, verification selfie | Display your profile and listings; confirm you're a real person if you request "Verified" status |
| Messages | Chat content between matched users or a seeker and an owner | Deliver your conversations; enforce our content-moderation and reporting tools |
| Safety data | Blocks and reports you submit or that are submitted about you | Keep the community safe (see Section 6) |
| Device data | Push notification token | Send you match, message, and like notifications |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This removes your profile, listings, messages, and authentication record entirely — it is not a soft delete, and it cannot be undone.
Dardar includes in-app Report and Block tools on profiles and chats. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team; blocking a user hides you from each other everywhere in the app. Report details are retained to support moderation and are not shared with the user you reported.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can access and correct most of your data directly in the app (Profile / Settings), or delete your account entirely as described above. For anything else, email support@dardarapp.com.
Dardar is only for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and age is checked at signup.
Our infrastructure providers may process and store data outside the country you're located in. Where this happens, we rely on our providers' own safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database-level access controls (row-level security) that restrict who can read or write which records. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
